AI Is Now the First Salesperson Your Prospects Meet

Prospective residents and families are asking ChatGPT and Gemini about senior living communities before they ever call. A session at this week's 2026 NIC Fall Conference in Chicago on October 22 is built around live demos of how these tools describe a community using reviews, public data, and available content (NIC session listing). Separately, U.S. News & World Report announced a partnership with, and investment in, Candid, which brings conversational voice and text feedback tools to operators (U.S. News release).

The leadership move: Make one executive responsible for how AI describes your communities, audit the answers this week, and publish a consent and data-use notice before deploying any AI tool that collects resident or family feedback.

Read the full research behind this story, plus this week's insurance coverage and governance flagships, in the LITT Briefing on Substack.

If you want to turn an AI-visibility audit into a plan your leadership team can follow, the ninety-day playbook is in my book, Senior Housing: The AI Gap: From Governance Theater to Deployment in 90 Days, available on Amazon. The compliance checklists and implementation tools are at youraigap.com.
